What can I expect from pediatric care?

Pediatricians like Dr. Pathak receive special training to care for children as they grow and develop. Because of this special aspect of her profession, Dr. Pathak understands how to prevent disease and address your child’s unique health care needs during infancy, childhood, and beyond:

Infants

When your child is still an infant, Dr. Pathak focuses most of her care on developmental milestones, nutrition, and immunizations to ensure your baby remains as healthy as possible.

Adolescents

Your child’s development changes dramatically from approximately 2-12 years of age. During this time, Dr. Pathak and her team focus on disease prevention, annual well-child visits, vision and hearing screenings, and the management and treatment of sensory disorders, autism, ADHD, asthma, diabetes, and more.

Teens

Once your child turns 13, Dr. Pathak recommends annual physical exams and check-ups to discuss teen-specific needs, including sexual health, contraceptive counseling, depression, and anxiety. Your teen may also need certain immunizations, such as the HPV vaccine.

Why is pediatric care important?

Pediatric care helps facilitate your child’s physical, emotional, mental, and social development. They know which questions to ask and how to ask them in a way that makes your child feel safe and comfortable in their care.
